CERRITOS — Ron Wood rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns Friday to lead Southern California Christian to a 13-9 victory over Hamilton, creating a three-way tie for the Arrowhead League championship between SCC, Hamilton and Linfield.
By virtue of a coin toss after the game, SCC will be the league’s second-seeded team in the Southern Section Division XI playoffs beginning next week. Hamilton will be No. 1 and Linfield No. 3.
SCC (8-2, 6-1) overcame a 9-0 halftime deficit for the victory. Wood rushed for a nine-yard touchdown in the third quarter and scored the winning touchdown on a one-yard run with eight minutes left.
The Flames were hurt by 65 penalty yards in the first half.
