Julia Feldman
SCHOOL: Taft
SPORT: Tennis
YEAR: Junior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Playing No. 1 singles, Feldman led the Toreadors (16-0) to their second consecutive City Section team championship last week. Her 6-2, 6-1 victory over Palisades’ No. 1 player, Bentleigh Borgeson, set the tone for a 6-1 Taft win at the Racquet Centre in Studio City. Top-seeded Feldman took a 15-0 record into Tuesday’s first round of the section individual tournament.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Feldman dominated Nicole Saul, 6-0, 6-0, in the team semifinals as Taft routed University, 7-0. Taft teammate Brahna Pastorini now becomes Feldman’s nemesis. Pastorini is seeded second in the City individual and is expected to face Feldman in the final. The only match that Feldman has lost in two seasons came against Pastorini in the 1992 City individual final. But this season, Feldman took Pastorini’s spot at No. 1 singles and will try to unseat her as champion.
