Chen Shaoguo won the men’s 20-kilometer walk in meet record time today, giving China its second gold medal in as many days of competition in the 10th Asian Track and Field Championships at Manila, Philippines.

Third baseman Todd Zeile of the St. Louis Cardinals and his wife, former gymnastics star Julianne McNamara, are parents for the first time. McNamara, who won gold and silver medals in the 1984 Olympics, gave birth to a son, Garrett Todd, on Saturday night in Valencia.

The University of Redlands hired Anthony O’Neil to replace Ross Mack as its men’s soccer coach for next season.
