MEDIA / MARKETING : Good Award

Biomedical Market Newsletter in Costa Mesa has added a new feature to its national publication: a monthly award to recognize responsible, ethical and unselfish business acts.
“It is my hope that this award will grow to become a positive force in the biomedical industry for encouraging good,” said David G. Anast, the publisher.
Anast said that the first award, to be announced in the December issue next week, will go to James M. Sweeney, chairman of McGaw Inc. of Irvine, for his decision quit the board of a competing company to avoid the “perception of a conflict of interest.”
Sweeney resigned earlier this month from the board of Medical Care America, which competes with companies that buy intravenous therapy products and services from McGaw.
