Noffsinger to Play Softball at Michigan State

Stefanie Noffsinger, an All-Southern Section pitcher for Huntington Beach High, has orally committed to play softball at Michigan State.
Noffsinger, who also has been named to the All-Sunset League team three times, has a career earned-run average of 0.61. She has also lettered in volleyball, basketball, cross-country and field hockey.

La Habra softball Coach Sue Briquelet has been named coach of the year for 1994 by the California Coaches Assn., and will receive her award at a Walnut Creek CCA conference March 26.
Briquelet, a math teacher, has compiled a 48-8 record in three years at La Habra; the Highlanders reached the Southern Section semifinals each season.

Because of Santa Margarita’s participation in a Southern Section boys’ basketball championship game at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Anaheim Arena, the Walk for Darren scheduled for that morning has been moved up an hour to 8-11.
Walkers will earn money to help pay for a special van for Darren Wedertz, a former Santa Margarita football player who was injured in a game and also has leukemia.
