SAN GABRIEL : Garcia to Run Again for Seat in Congress
- Share via
Bonifacio (Bonny) Garcia has announced his candidacy for the 31st Congressional District.
Standing in front of the federally funded Mid-Valley Consortium job training center in El Monte, Garcia said he would call for a federal audit of the program. Mid-Valley’s former head has been accused of misappropriating consortium funds.
Garcia, 37, a San Gabriel resident and Harvard-educated lawyer, would face incumbent Matthew G. Martinez in the Democratic primary. Garcia got 26% of the vote when he lost to Martinez in the primary for the same seat in 1992.
