Cal Lutheran will play at UC San Diego in a second-round game of the NCAA Division III men’s basketball playoffs at 7:30 tonight.
The Kingsmen (24-2), co-champions of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, had a first-round bye Thursday while UC San Diego defeated SCIAC co-champion Pomona-Pitzer, 67-66.
The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of a game between Greensboro (N.C.) and Christopher Newport (Va.) in a sectional semifinal Mar. 11.
Cal Lutheran defeated UC San Diego, 100-79, in a nonconference game this season, but the Tritons (21-4) have won 15 of 16 since.
The Kingsmen have won four in a row, including last Saturday’s 83-62 win over Pomona-Pitzer which gave Cal Lutheran the SCIAC’s automatic playoff berth.
