Woman Dies 6 Days After Car Accident

COSTA MESA — A 41-year-old Costa Mesa woman died six days after she was struck by a car, police reported Saturday.
Maria Concepcion Herrera died at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana at 4:40 a.m. Friday of injuries from the accident, Costa Mesa police said.
Herrera was walking across 19th Street at the Wallace Avenue intersection when she was struck by a car about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26, community service officer Cristina Hendricks said.
Leslie Anne Lasate, 24, of Costa Mesa struck Herrera as she drove west on 19th Street, police said. Witnesses indicated that Herrera was standing in the right lane of traffic, Hendricks said.
Lasate was not cited in the accident.
