JC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Harbor Wins State Crown

The Los Angeles Harbor College women’s basketball team defeated Golden West, 83-70, at Solano College in Suisun City to win the state community college championship.
Harbor’s JoAnn Williams scored 36 points and teammate LaTasha Burnett, named the state tournament’s most valuable player, had 28 points and 10 rebounds. The two sophomore guards are both from Lynwood High.
Harbor, located in Wilmington, finished 31-6 and earned its first women’s state title in any sport.
Michelle Kravik scored 14 points to lead Golden West of Huntington Beach (33-5).
