Harding Protests Use of Photo in Ad: A potential legal brawl has emerged in New York over the use of Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding’s photo in a pun-filled newspaper ad for two music bargain stores. But her lawyers pointed out that Harding, under investigation in the Jan. 6 attack on Nancy Kerrigan, has not authorized commercial use of her name or likeness. The ad in the current Village Voice and NY Press is for two Tower Clearance Outlets owned by Tower Records in New York. The photo of Harding adjoins a cartoon balloon that suggests she is saying, “Unbeatable bargains that will bring you to your knees. . . .”
