Davis, the Gauchos’ designated hitter, has established herself as one of the best hitters in the Orange Empire Conference. She started the week hitting .400. In two games last week, she had three hits in seven at-bats and drove in seven runs. Her most impressive game came Thursday against Cypress, the defending conference champion. She had a two-run double and a two-run home run in Saddleback’s 6-0 victory. Davis, a freshman from Riverside Arlington High School, had an RBI single in the Gauchos’ 4-3 victory over Golden West.
Other notables:
* Christina Mazurie, Rancho Santiago, had four hits and pitched a four-hitter as Rancho Santiago beat Irvine Valley, 21-1.
