OUTLOOK
It will be a disappointing season if the Sea Kings don’t exceed last year’s sixth-place finish. They have a strong pitching staff with considerable depth, and they have a solid defensive unit. All-league pitcher MacMillan had Orange County’s 12th-best earned-run average (1.88) and was 14th in strikeouts (58 during the regular season). Wills, Bowman and Stuart should provide plenty of support. The offense is led by Huston, who batted .412, and Davis, who had 15 stolen bases. Corona del Mar also should benefit from the cohesiveness that develops from having a unit that has played together several years. The Sea Kings are also bolstered by good team speed, and first-year Coach Lundin has already noticed a strong leadership base.
