OUTLOOK
The Tillers barely reached the playoffs last year, entering the postseason as a third-place team, but they got hot at the right time and won the school’s first Southern Section Division III title. Tustin hopes to become Orange County’s first back-to-back champion, and it has a strong nucleus returning. The infield remains intact, but to repeat, the Tillers need a strong performance by their pitchers, which is the greatest question mark on the team. There are no such questions about the offense: It’s potent. Baker batted .405, and Lloyd, Winmill and Lauderdale all batted better than .300. Baker was a first-team All-Southern Section selection, as well as a Times Orange County first-team selection. O’Donoghue was named the section’s coach of the year.
