School Bungalows Not Very ‘Unique’
* A recent story contained a quotation from a student at Cal State Northridge saying that the opportunity to attend a campus composed entirely of temporary structures was “unique.” Unfortunately, not so.
Here in L.A., Los Angeles Southwest College at Western and Imperial was nothing but bungalows for more than four years. After the 1987 earthquake, the permanent structure was shut down and the bungalows were re-enlisted.
In my home town of Philadelphia, Temple University’s football team plays ball at a stadium eight miles north of campus. Across the street in an open field are 15 bungalows, called Temple Community College, that have been there for 60 years.
