OJAI VALLEY : Forum Set to Discuss Area’s Transit Needs
- Share via
A community meeting is scheduled tonight in Meiners Oaks to discuss transit needs for residents of the Ojai Valley.
Supervisor Susan K. Lacey and the Ventura County Transportation Commission are seeking input from residents about what kind of public transit services should be offered and whether there is support for extending the Ojai trolley beyond city limits.
Officials at South Coast Area Transit recently decided to cancel the express route that runs from the Ojai Valley to Ventura and Oxnard. That cancellation becomes effective in July.
Although SCAT will continue to offer its regular route through the valley, Lacey and commission officials want to see whether bus service should be extended through Meiners Oaks and other areas.
The two-hour forum is scheduled at 7 p.m. at Meiners Oaks School, 400 S. Lomita Ave.
