PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP : La Quinta Wins Two at Woodbridge

Joe Garcia pitched a seven-hit shutout as La Quinta beat Woodbridge, 3-0, in the first game of a baseball doubleheader Tuesday at Woodbridge.
The Aztecs won the second game, 7-1.
Garcia is 1-0. Anibal Delacruz had a triple, Charlie Tuggle had two doubles and Corey Fox also had a double for La Quinta in the first game.
In the second game, Jim Livernois held Woodbridge to one run on four hits in six innings for La Quinta (5-2). Corey Fox had three hits, three runs scored and drove in two runs in the two games for the Aztecs.
In other nonleague games:
Katella 4-4, Foothill 1-2--Robby Erwin was two for two with a double and a triple and a run batted in in the first game, and Mike Stevenson struck out 10 in five innings in the second game for Katella (4-3).
Servite 11, Valencia 5--Mike Sullivan had four hits and drove in two runs, and Erick Jekums had three hits, two runs scored and drove in two to lead Servite (4-1-1).
Troy 11, La Mirada 7--Justin Bero had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs for host Troy (5-0), which scored seven runs in the first inning.
Brea-Olinda 6, La Habra 2 (6, darkness)--Marc Anspach hit his first home run of the season and Jason Theif had two hits and scored two runs to lead Brea-Olinda (6-0).
Garden Grove 7, Orange Lutheran 0--Ronnie Moreno pitched a five-hitter, striking out five, and had two hits and two RBIs for visiting Garden Grove (4-1).
Huntington Beach 8, Century 0--Craig Daedelow hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning for Huntington Beach (5-1). Jim Brewer (2-0) pitched four shutout innings to earn the victory.
Bolsa Grande 3, Downey Warren 1--Bryan Moore pitched a five-hitter with three strikeouts for host Bolsa Grande (2-2). Glen Strzelecki had two hits, including a triple, scored a run and drove in another for Bolsa Grande.
Kennedy 5, Western 0--Chris Clark had two hits and an RBI and three pitchers combined to get the shutout for Kennedy (4-2).
Magnolia 7, Newport Harbor 0--Josh Reding struck out seven and didn’t allow a run in seven innings and Fernando Casteneda had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs to lead visiting Magnolia. Newport Harbor fell to 2-3.
St. Margaret’s 13, Capistrano Valley Christian 0 (5, mercy rule)--Bobby Masters threw 4 1/3 no-hit innings for St. Margaret’s. Reliever Rick Miller allowed two hits before retiring the side to end the game.
Brethren Christian 8, Covina Western Christian 7--Paul Stites singled in two runs in the bottom of the seventh to give Brethren Christian (1-3) the victory. Kurt Aguilar hit his second home run of the season in the first inning for the Warriors.
Saddleback 7-9, Sunny Hills 1-1--Tony Zuniga and Mike Grosse each had two hits, including a double, and drove in one run to lead Saddleback (4-3-1) in the second game. Erasmo Ramirez (2-0) struck out nine in seven innings to earn the victory in the opener.
