BankAmerica Names Woman Vice Chairman: Kathi Burke has been named to the post at the San Francisco-based company, making her the highest-ranking female officer in the bank’s history. Burke, 42, was a BankAmerica Corp. group executive vice president and director of corporate human resources for Bank of America, as well as a member of its managing committee. She came to BankAmerica from Security Pacific Corp., where she was executive vice president and head of human resources from 1989 through 1992.
