LAKE FOREST — After two days of surveillance, Orange County sheriff’s undercover deputies arrested an armed, 23-year-old salesman Thursday suspected of 20 area burglaries.
Jon Duncan Gaw was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary as he crawled out of an unoccupied house, according to deputies contracted to patrol Lake Forest. Gaw is being held in the Orange County Jail on $250,000 bail, Lt. Dan Martini said Friday.
On Thursday, police said Gaw was observed at a house on Via Del Rio, leaving after someone answered the door. Gaw then went to a house on Camino Villa and, when there was no answer, climbed through a window on the side of the house, police said.
Apparently, Gaw spotted the undercover deputies outside the house and left the residence. As Gaw approached his car, he was taken into custody, and police found he had a loaded semiautomatic pistol.
