Respected City Clerk

Why can’t you write something nice about someone without feeling the need to denigrate them in some way?
Most of your article on Ventura City Clerk Barbara Kam (March 14) portrays a hard-working city official who does an excellent job and is well-respected by all. Why did you feel the need to publish the comments of one person who has a political ax to grind?
If there were more people in government like Barbara Kam, you would have far less to write about. She has always viewed the citizen as a customer who merits the highest degree of respect and service. She had this view long before it became fashionable to refer to the taxpayers in such terms.
