Armbruster, from Katella High, is establishing herself as one of the top pitchers in the Orange Empire Conference. Armbruster, who throws a paralyzing changeup, threw two one-hitters last week for second-place Orange Coast, which trails Fullerton by 1 1/2 games. She beat Cypress, 2-1, Monday, then came back to beat Riverside, 1-0, Wednesday. Armbruster took Friday off from pitching, but contributed with a three-run double as the Pirates beat Irvine Valley, 5-1. She has allowed one run and four hits in her last 25 innings.
Other notables:
* Kristine Palle, Saddleback, won the 100, 200 and 500 freestyles as the Gauchos beat Palomar, 155-142.
