Mead Named Tenneco Chairman: Tenneco Inc. Chief Executive Dana Mead was elected to the additional post of chairman, replacing Michael Walsh, who died Friday following a 16-month battle with brain cancer. Mead, 58, joined Tenneco in 1992 as president and chief operating officer. He became chief executive in February, after Walsh stepped down for health reasons. Although Walsh, 51, retained the chairman’s title, he had been on a medical leave of absence and Mead had been carrying out the chairman’s duties. The Houston-based oil company did not name a replacement for Mead as president.
