CUYAMACA, Calif. — A second adult mountain lion was killed by federal trackers in eastern San Diego County, about 10 miles south of where a female lion was killed earlier in the day.
The 125-pound male was killed about 10:45 p.m. Monday. The owner of a private Descanso ranch told officials that a 120-pound pregnant ewe on the ranch had been killed and partly eaten by a mountain lion Monday morning.
Earlier Monday, park rangers tracked and killed an adult female mountain lion in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, a day after a big cat charged a child.
