Otte, from Marx High School in Rathenow, Germany, helped Orange Coast dominate the State swimming and diving championships last weekend. The Pirates had 521 points and second-place Golden West had 417. Otte won the 200-yard individual medley (1:52.50) and the 100 butterfly (50.13). He also was part of OCC teams that won the 200- and 400-medley relays, and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Otte also finished second in the 200 backstroke and tied teammate Grant Ferguson for high-point total. He also was a member of the 1992 OCC team that won the State title.
Other notables:
* Grant Ferguson of OCC won the 100 and the 200 breaststroke and was on four winning relay teams at the State swimming championships.
