Tenneco Inc. to Spin Off 25% of J.I. Case Unit: The Houston company, one of the nation’s largest conglomerates, said it will sell part of the farm and construction equipment unit next week in a stock offering worth between $335 million and $385 million. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Tenneco revised downward the number of Case shares it will offer to 17.5 million, or 25% of Case shares, from a previously planned 24.5 million, or 35%. They are expected to go on sale at between $19 and $22 a share on the New York Stock Exchange. The new company name will be Case Corp.
