The Earthquake Service Center in Chatsworth will hold an open house featuring a series of seminars on earthquake preparedness and other topics Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The center, at 20525 Nordhoff St., is operated jointly by the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It is designed to provide long-term local, state and federal assistance and information to individuals and businesses. Crisis counseling and tax advisers on disaster-related issues are also available at the center. The center--and nine others throughout the area--are still accepting applications for aid. The deadline is July 18.
