The Cleveland Indians put right-hander Mark Clark on the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-hander Jerry DiPoto from triple-A Charlotte. Clark’s right wrist was broken Wednesday night when he was hit on the pitching hand by a line drive by Texas’ Gary Redus. Cleveland’s winningest pitcher, Clark (11-3) will be in a cast for four to six weeks.
The Indians’ first-round draft pick, pitcher Jaret Wright of Anaheim, is in Cleveland to sign his contract. He’ll report today to Class-A Burlington of the Appalachian League.
