Man Fatally Shot While Driving

SUN VALLEY — A Van Nuys man was fatally shot in his car late Friday while driving through a neighborhood here, police said.
No suspects or motives are known in the killing of John Black, 28, who was discovered in the 8200 block of San Fernando Road by paramedics shortly after 11 p.m., said Lt. Don Hooper of the North Hollywood police station.
Black, who was found lying face down in his vehicle, was shot once in the torso while driving along San Fernando Road, Hooper said. He apparently lost control of the vehicle, which careened off a light pole and then came to a stop after smashing into a parked car.
The victim was alive when Fire Department paramedics arrived, but then died at the scene.
