O.C. Team Wins at Regional Event

The Orange County Cardinals defeated Cherry Creek (Colo.), 10-4, in the first round of the Connie Mack Pacific Region Championship on Saturday in Cherry Creek.
Irvine’s Tommy Louie drove in three runs with a bases-loaded triple and Laguna Hills’ Brett Nista went three for four with two runs batted in for the Cardinals, who will play the Lafayette (Calif.) Generals today in the double-elimination tournament.
The winner advances to the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, N.M.
