CALABASAS : City to Offer Wide Range of Fall Classes

Calabasas’ Community Services Department will offer classes for children, teen-agers and adults this fall in activities ranging from self-defense to computers.
Classes, scheduled to begin on Sept. 17 and Sept. 26, will be held at A. E. Wright Middle School, Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center, Calabasas City Hall and other locations.
The after-school classes for children will include programs on modeling, tai chi, watercolor painting and baby-sitting training. The classes are designed for youths between the ages of 8 and 14.
Beginning at 2:30 and 3:30 p.m., the children’s classes are scheduled to run from one hour to 90 minutes. Free transportation home following the after-school classes at A.E. Wright will be provided.
Drama, karate, jazz and other classes will also be offered to students, ages 11 to 18. Teen-agers can also experience a rock climbing class, offered Oct. 1 for $65 by the Wilderness Institute.
Adult classes will include self-defense for women, sign language, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ballroom and swing dance, computers and Spanish.
