Burbank 28, Hoover 0--Opportunistic Burbank returned two fumbles for touchdowns and parlayed six Hoover turnovers into a victory at Glendale High.
Vaughn Lucas returned the first of three fumbles by Tornado quarterback Carlos Valadez for a 26-yard score.
Valadez fumbled on Hoover’s next possession as well, setting up another Burbank touchdown.
Jason Jonas found Carlos Baker open over the middle on the first play for a 19-yard touchdown and a 14-0 lead. Jonas completed 10 of 17 passes for 126 yards.
Burbank’s Justin Cabral intercepted two passes in the second half, and Ansen Beck returned a third Valadez fumble 68 yards for a score in the second quarter.
