SACRAMENTO — Four cheese products produced by a Wilmington company were ordered recalled from store shelves after a harmful bacteria was discovered in a cheese sample, state officials reported Thursday.
No illnesses were linked to the tainted cheese.
The state Department of Health Services said the cheese had been distributed primarily by Italia Latticini products in Orange and Los Angeles counties and southern Nevada. The company is cooperating fully with health inspectors, the state said.
The products were identified as:
* Ciliegine half-pound loaves.
* Mozzarella Sofficella, four-ounce balls packaged in water.
* Ricotta in four-pound plastic tubs.
* Mascarpone cream cheese in four-pound and one-pound tubs.
