The Newport-Mesa Unified School District on Thursday will hold its final scheduled community forum on the impact of the collapse of the Orange County bond pool on the district’s financial situation.
The district had invested $80 million in the county portfolio.
The forum, to run from 7 to 9 p.m., is designed to allow parents and other members of the community to question and comment on the district’s investments and to offer suggestions on how to improve the district’s position.
Supt. Mac Bernd and finance director Michael Fine will give a brief presentation that will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The forum will be at Corona del Mar High School, 2101 Eastbluff Drive, Newport Beach. For more information, call the district’s public information office at (714) 760-3497.
