Don’t Wait to Get Rid of Old Tires

Thanks for the excellent coverage of Tire Amnesty Day. We collected 82,840 pounds of tires, and we are still catching up with more than 500 people who called wanting to know how to get rid of their tires and how to prevent future waste.
Finally, a word of warning to the public: Don’t wait for an amnesty day to get rid of tires; tires are not allowed at most clean-up events. To find out what you can do with your tires, call 654-2889.
