O’Bric, the defending Sunset League champion in the 300-meter hurdles, long and triple jumps, is stronger and four inches taller this year and already threatening personal bests. Saturday, she jumped a county-leading 17 feet 9 3/4 in the long jump and won the triple jump in 36-5 1/2 at the Brea Relays, leading the Chargers to the team title. She also finished fourth in the 100 hurdles in 15.2 seconds, beating her personal record by 0.4 seconds. O’Bric is excelling although she only started training with the track team about three weeks ago, after helping Edison to the Southern Section Division II-A girls’ basketball semifinals.
