OXNARD : Forum to Discuss Base Airfield Plan

A panel discussion and forum at Oxnard City Hall tonight will address a proposal to develop a joint civilian and military airfield at the Point Mugu Navy base.
The 7:30 p.m. discussion, which is free and open to the public, will feature Oxnard Mayor Manuel Lopez, county Supervisor John K. Flynn, Navy Capt. Tom Boothe, local businessman Dick Fausset and Michael Armstrong, an aviation analyst with the Southern Calif. Assn. of Governments.
Panelists will also outline the findings of an investigatory committee that has done initial feasibility studies of the joint-use proposal. A discussion of what steps the project faces will also be included.
The meeting will be held in the City Council chambers, 305 W. 3rd St.
