More than 300 educators, parents and business people are expected to attend the third annual Armenian Cultural Conference next week, an event aimed at assisting those who work with Armenian students in the public school system, organizers said.
The event, scheduled for Thursday at the Pasadena Civic Center, is co-sponsored by the state Department of Education and the Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena school districts. It will include seminars, workshops, panels and demonstrations on how to develop strategies for meeting the special needs of Armenian students and helping them integrate into American life.
The keynote speaker will be James Russell, professor of Armenian Studies at Harvard.
Garo Mirigian, a principal who has worked for both public schools and private Armenian schools in California, will also make a presentation.
