A 55-year-old man was found shot to death inside a parked car near the Golden State Freeway in Burbank, a case police are investigating as a homicide, authorities said Friday.
The body of David Blackburn was discovered inside a 1995 gold-colored Cadillac parked in a driveway on the 100 block of East Santa Anita Avenue Thursday evening, police said.
“All the evidence shows this is not suicide, this is murder,” said Burbank Police Lt. Larry Koch, who declined to elaborate.
At about the time shots were fired, witnesses saw a man leaving the scene aboard an MTA bus headed for Downtown Los Angeles, police said.
The bus was later stopped in front of Los Angeles City Hall by MTA police, who detained the man until Burbank police could arrive to question him.
He was eventually released, Koch said. “The investigation revealed he was not a suspect.”
