The all-Final Four team: Ed O’Bannon and Toby Bailey of UCLA, Corliss Williamson and Clint McDaniel of Arkansas, and Bryant (Big Country) Reeves of Oklahoma State. . . . UCLA’s 11th title is six more than any other school. Indiana and Kentucky are tied for second with five. The Bruins are 11-1 in championship games. Their only loss came in the 1980 title game, to Louisville when Larry Brown was the UCLA coach.
Davis Romar, the father of UCLA assistant coach Lorenzo Romar, remains in a Seattle hospital after suffering Saturday what the Bruin assistant described as “a small stroke.” According to Romar, his father is in stable condition. “They’re working to keep his blood pressure down,” he said.
