VATICAN CITY : Pope Looks to Youth
This Palm Sunday has been designated World Youth Day by Pope John Paul II, who plans a number of activities designed to put a focus on young people.
He will begin the day with a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica attended by youths from around the world who have come to Rome for the observance.
Next will come the traditional Palm Sunday procession around the piazza in commemoration of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem before his death on the cross. The procession finishes in time for the Angelus, the Pope’s usual Sunday midday prayer, and his address from his study window in the Vatican. The subject: youth.
