SEASON AT A GLANCE: A shortstop who will play next year at Southwest Texas State, Kranz has powered the Southern Section’s top-ranked team in Division II with a .509 batting average, two home runs, four triples and 25 runs batted in. A three-year starter, Kranz is one of two players on Saugus headed to a Division I school next year.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Kranz went on a tear last week, batting .736 in a four-game stretch. She was 14 for 19 at the plate with six extra base hits. She drove in 13 runs and scored 10. The highlight of the week was Tuesday against Canyon. Kranz became the only high school player in Santa Clarita Valley history to hit for the cycle (single, double, triple and home run in the same game). Kranz was four for six and drove in five runs as the Centurions beat Canyon, 22-1.
