A 2-year-old Simi Valley boy was listed in stable condition after he fell into the family swimming pool and nearly drowned, police said Thursday.
Paramedics were called to the residence in the 4100 block of Valley Fair in Simi Valley about 11:45 a.m. Thursday after Damian Agustin Corral was found unconscious in the pool, family members said.
Ambulance crews immediately transported the boy to the Simi Valley Hospital emergency room.
He was listed in critical condition at Simi Valley Hospital before being transferred to Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys for follow-up treatment, medical officials said.
Lety Corral, the boy’s aunt, said her young nephew had fallen into the back-yard swimming pool. Within minutes, she said, the boy’s parents found him and dialed 911.
“He’s doing better,” the aunt said late Thursday. “They said he was going to be all right.”
