LOS ANGELES : Wilson Appoints 2 Judges to Municipal Court Bench

Gov. Pete Wilson today announced the appointment of two Municipal Court judges for the county of Los Angeles.
Mark V. Mooney, 38, of Sierra Madre will replace Judge Richard Paez, who was appointed to the federal bench.
Mooney, a graduate of USC and the Southern Methodist University School of Law, has been an assistant U.S. attorney for the Department of Justice since 1991.
Debre Katz Weintraub, 39, of Encino will replace Judge Marlene Kristovich, who was elected to the Superior Court.
The UCLA and USC law school graduate is a partner in a Los Angeles-based law firm. She was a trial lawyer for the office of the chief counsel at the Internal Revenue Service from 1979 to 1982.
The salary for a Municipal Court judge is $98,070.
