Some Hotels Might Be Price Gouging for Olympics: There are indications of price gouging by some hotels for rooms booked for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, a top state hotel industry official said Thursday.
Bob King, president of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Assn., refused to identify any hotels that may be violating a state law prohibiting price gouging by hotels during the Olympics. In some cases, he alleged, hotels have made deals with wholesale tour operators who are inflating room rates.
