In an effort to help prepare the community for the next natural disaster, Camarillo city officials will host a daylong exposition today highlighting disaster preparedness products and services for the home or office.
The free event will be held at the Camarillo Community Center, 1605 E. Burnley Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the city’s Disaster Assistance Response Team, will feature more than two dozen exhibits and live demonstrations.
Camarillo Assistant City Manager Larry Davis said residents will be able to purchase products ranging from freeze-dried food with a 10-year shelf life to portable sanitation kits.
Federal, state and county emergency services officials will also explain their agencies’ programs and services.
