EU Inflation Unchanged at 3.3%: The annual rate for the 15-nation European Union was static for the third month running in May, the European Commission’s statistics office said. Brussels-based Eurostat said the rate stood at 3.2% in May, 1994. It said Belgium had the lowest rate last month, 1.4%, followed by France and Finland at 1.6%. Among the member countries with inflation above the EU average were Britain at 3.4%, Portugal at 4.3%, Spain at 5.1%, Italy at 5.4% and Greece at 9.8%.
