Cultural Program Offered to Students

Local elementary school students can travel to Sweden, Argentina, the Philippines and Italy this summer without ever leaving Ventura County.
The American Assn. of University Women is featuring the countries as part of its Youth Cultural Program beginning July 10. The 19th annual program is open to children entering grades one through six.
Students will concentrate on a different country each week, learning about its food, arts and crafts, history and culture. Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The program costs $50 and takes place at the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley in Thousand Oaks. Registration forms can be obtained from the Arts Council, New Horizons, and public libraries in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Las Virgenes and Oak Park.
