Magazines Report Record Ad Gains: Major consumer magazines posted their biggest first-half advertising gains in more than a decade in the first six months of 1995, New York-based Publishers Information Bureau said. PIB said ad pages were up 6.7% and that ad revenue climbed 13.3% in the January-June period compared to a year ago in the 201 consumer magazines it tracks. Those were the biggest first-half percentage gains since 1984, when ad pages rose 8.4% and revenue jumped 16.6%, a spokeswoman said.
