County to Promote Recycling of Used Oil
Ventura County has been awarded a $295,000 state grant to promote the recycling of used oil, officials said.
The money will be used to encourage recycling through the use of television, radio and newspaper ads, officials said. It will also fund educational programs in local schools and provide equipment and other support to businesses that operate used-oil drop-off services.
The county’s Solid Waste Management Department will administer the grant money. A steering committee of city and county representatives will monitor progress of the recycling efforts, officials said.
