San Fernando : Speakers to Discuss Alcohol, Tobacco Ads

An educational forum will be held to discuss alcohol and tobacco billboard advertising and its impact on youth Thursday at the San Fernando City Council chambers.
The forum is sponsored by the San Fernando and Pacoima Alcohol Prevention coalitions, two groups that have worked to reduce the number of alcohol outlets and billboards in San Fernando and surrounding communities.
Speakers at the forum will include Laurie Leiber, director of the Center on Alcohol Advertising, in San Jose, and James F. Mosher, co-founder and former executive director of the Marin Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Problems in San Rafael.
The free forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 117 Macneil St.
