3 Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Oxnard

Investigators arrested three men described as mid-level drug dealers after seizing 12 ounces of cocaine with an estimated street value of $21,000, authorities said Friday.

The arrests made Thursday afternoon stemmed from a three-week investigation by the Ventura-Oxnard Narcotic Enforcement Team that culminated in an undercover purchase of nine ounces of cocaine in an Oxnard Boulevard restaurant parking lot, police said.

Police arrested Miguel Angel Solis, a 25-year-old Oxnard bartender, and Antonio Reding Vellegas, 25, a Camarillo dishwasher, at the scene on suspicion of selling cocaine.

After the arrests, police raided Solis’ South C Street apartment, where they found an additional three ounces of cocaine, authorities said. At the residence, police arrested Oxnard resident Jose Roman Fernandez, 25, on suspicion of selling cocaine. Police said Fernandez was also involved in an earlier undercover purchase.

All three men were booked into Ventura County Jail.

“Twelve ounces is a significant amount of cocaine,” Oxnard Police Sgt. Mike Matlock said.
